The ripe fruits have a black color and a 1cm diameter, which have been used in jams, juices, wines and so on in Europe for many years. The blackcurrant flavored liqueur "Creme de Cassis" is very famous in the world.
Blackcurrant fruits mainly contain cyanidin-3-rutinoside (C3R) and delphinidin-3-rutinoside (D3R), which are the characteristic components of blackcurrant and not found in blueberries.
CHONDROITIN 80

Health food/ Squid Cartilage extract/ Mucopolysaccharide/White to whitish powder

■Characteristics：
・Without unpleasing taste and odor
・Suitable for cosmetic, nutraceutical and food applications
・High content
・High cost-performance

■Origin：
Squid cartilage

■Present For Aging Society
・Chondroitin Sulfate ：
Chondroitin sulfate belongs to a family of heteropolysaccharides called glycosaminoglycans (GAGs, formerly known as mucopolysaccharides).
GAGs in the form of proteoglycans comprise the ground substance in the extracellular matrix of connective tissue. It is found in humans in cartilage, bone, cornea, brain, skin and the arterial wall.

・Chondroitin Sulfate Benefits Persons With Osteoarthritis：
In osteoarthritis, the cushion-like tissue, cartilage becomes worn and thin, and eventually loses their protection and shock absorbance properties that protect the bones in the joint concerned.
Osteoarthritis is second only to cardiovascular disease as the cause of chronic disability in adults. One-third of all American adults have X-ray evidence of osteoarthritis of the hand, foot, knee, or hip. As Baby Boomers age, the number of people suffering from osteoarthritis is expected to rapidly increase in the next 10 years.
Chondroitin sulfate was found for the first time from cartilage, and named "chondroitin" after the Greek word meaning "cartilage". It has been reported that chondroitin sulfate can inhibit cartilage breakdown and stimulate the growth of new cartilage.

・Chondroitin Sulfate From Squid Cartilage：
With so much attention to BSE, influenza virus and fishing limit, squid cartilage is considered to be the best source for chondroitin sulfate.
The amount of squid landing is estimated to reach 3 millons tons every year.

Oversulfated chondroitin sulfate E is the major component of squid cartilage, which has not been found in the land animals.

Chondroitin sulfate E is also expected to treat Alzheimer's disease due to its neurite outgrowth promoting activity.
